Pine Tree & DeMolay Youth Foundation

Our Scholarships

Maine's DeMolay & Pine Tree Youth FoundationThe DeMolay & Pine Tree Youth Foundation annually awards over a dozen scholarships. In the past these had been limited to graduating high school seniors in our state. We now have scholarships for continuing undergraduate education and graduate studies as well.

Scholarships for Maine graduating high school seniors and undergraduate students

While some of our scholarship funds have been specifically designated by donors to be for students meeting certain criteria there are no requirements as to educational avenues pursued. The application process is straight-forward requiring a short essay and proof of educational and civic achievement. All instructions are on the reverse of the form.

Our scholarship amounts are determined annually and may differ from fund to fund and from year to year. Scholarship amounts are based on the amount of income we earn each year.

The application for 2024 is HERE.

Graduate Student Scholarship

Through the generosity of Velma and John Baird a scholarship was established in memory of their son John to aid those who are continuing in graduate-level studies. The requirements are that the applicant be a graduate of a Maine high school program and enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited graduate program regardless of location. The applicant may apply during any post-graduate year but scholarship awards will not be retroactive. There is one scholarship of $2,000/year for up to 3 years of graduate work beginning in the SECOND year of graduate studies. Prior DeMolay & Pine Tree Scholarship winners will be given first priority to reflect our continued commitment to these students. Scholarship recipients are expected to provide proof of satisfactory work each year of his/her post-graduate studies. If marks fall below passing, the scholarship will be forfeited for that year.
